Chatır Lake
Chatır Lake is a high mountain lake formed by a glacier located at an altitude of 3,500 meters. Located in the southern part of the Naryn region, close to the Chinese border, between At-Basa ridge and Torugart, the facility has a large area in the intermediate
basin. The lake is the third largest in Kyrgyzstan after Issyk Kul and Son-Kul Lake.
Lake Çatır has a very harsh climate. In winter the temperature here rises to -50 degrees and most of the year the lake is frozen with ice. The shoreline of the lake is marshy and only low and hard grass grows. The depth of the
lake is not very large - it reaches 20 meters at its deepest point. Next to the lake is the Torugart Pass to China. A fitness center was opened in Kara Kul in Jalal Abad District.
