Tashkent Metro
Tashkent Metro is Central Asia’s first subway system, inaugurated in 1977. It currently operates 4 lines and 50 stations across the city. Built as the seventh metro in the former USSR, Tashkent Metro was designed to withstand seismic activity. Its four lines — Chilonzor (Red), Uzbekistan (Blue), Yunusobod (Green), and the Circle (Halqa) Line — span over 70 km. Each station features unique architectural and artistic designs, often reflecting Uzbek heritage. With a daily ridership exceeding 740,000, it remains a vital part of urban mobility in Tashkent.
