Ashabat Lenin Monument

The Lenin Monument — Located in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, it is one of the few Soviet-era statues still preserved today. This monument, notable for its pedestal decorated with national motifs, is considered both a historical and cultural heritage site. The Lenin Monument in Ashgabat was unveiled in 1927 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. While the statue itself reflects the classic Lenin figure, its most striking feature is its majolica ceramic pedestal, adorned with Turkmen carpet motifs. The monument was designed by the painter Andrei Karelin, and sculpted by Tripolskaya. The bronze was sourced from the Bayram-Ali region. Today, the monument is considered a cultural treasure of Turkmenistan and bears inscriptions in both Russian and Turkmen: "To the leader of the workers and peasants of Turkmenistan" and "Leninism - the path of liberation of the peoples of the East."
