Halk Hakıdası
Halk Hakıdası is a memorial complex located southwest of Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, dedicated to tragic events in the history of the people. It was built to commemorate the victims of the Battle of Göktepe, World War II, and the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake. Construction of the complex began in 2012 by Polimeks and was officially opened on October 6, 2014. The 650,000 m² site includes three main memorials: Ruhu Tagzım (earthquake victims), Baki Şöhret (1941–1945 war martyrs), and the Sons of the Nation (those who lost their lives for the homeland). The Museum of the Sanctity of the Homeland also houses two exhibition halls themed around war and earthquakes. The area is decorated with fountains, flowers, walking paths, and seating areas. Illuminated by floodlights at night, it creates an impressive atmosphere.
