Burabay Lake

Burabay Lake is a closed freshwater lake located on the eastern slope of Mount Kokshe in Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region. Known for its scenic beauty, crystal-clear water, and rocky shores, it is a popular destination for tourists and vacationers. The lake sits at an elevation of 320 meters above sea level. It stretches 4.5 km in length and reaches a maximum depth of 7 meters. The water is soft and transparent, allowing visibility to the bottom. Its shores are surrounded by granite cliffs and pine forests. At the center lies Jumbaktas Island, a mysterious rock formation resembling a human profile. The area is home to resorts and wellness centers. Fish species such as perch, carp, and pike inhabit the lake. Burabay is a picturesque retreat for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility.
