Kenty-Baba Necropolis

The Kenty-Baba Necropolis is an ancient burial site dating back to the X–XVI centuries, located in the Mangystau Province of Western Kazakhstan, specifically situated between the villages of Shetpe and Shaiyr near Fort Shevchenko. It is considered an important part of the region’s rich historical and spiritual heritage. The oldest architectural element of the complex is the central mausoleum, which was erected on the site of a saint’s tomb. The necropolis is valued by tourists as a historical enigma and a destination that offers insight into the region's deep history and cultural mysteries.
