Nur Astana Mosque
Nur Astana Mosque is one of the most prominent religious landmarks in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana. It blends Islamic tradition, national architecture, and modern design. The mosque was built in 2005 as a gift from the Emir of Qatar. Its architectural design was created by Lebanese architect Charles Hazife. The building stands 43 meters tall, with four 63-meter minarets. It accommodates 5000 worshippers and spans 3930 m². The design merges Eastern motifs with contemporary elements. In 2021, the mosque was renamed in honor of Abu Nasr al-Farabi. It serves as a spiritual hub for the city, hosting large gatherings for Friday prayers and religious holidays.
