Nur Gasyr Mosque
The Central Regional Mosque of Aktobe is located in the city of Aktobe, Kazakhstan. Construction began in April 2006 and was completed in September 2008. That same year, it was officially inaugurated with the participation of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. A 3-hectare plot in the city center of Aktobe was allocated for the construction of the “Nur Gasyr” Mosque. The project began in 2006, and residents of both the city and the wider region—regardless of ethnicity, race, or religious belief—actively contributed to its realization. Between early 2005 and January 1, 2009, a total of 1,901,452,769.56 Kazakh tenge was raised. Thanks to this strong public support, the mosque was completed in just two and a half years and was ceremoniously opened for worship on September 22, 2008, during the holy month of Ramadan.
